I have just recently taken redundancy (known as The Lump) from my job as an airport search officer. I'm looking forward to having more time to do the things I love ...like thrifting and spending time in Leitrim. To commemorate the big event my pal Bren wrote me this wonderful poem. Enjoy!
Ode to Angie Lee
Come all me friends and neightours and listen well to me.
I've a story 'bout a girl from Swords - her name is Angie Lee
she used to work at searchin' - at the airport she'd be found
But she took the lump from the DAA and now she's Leitrim bound!
Your'll find her now at markets, from Fairyhouse to Rhyll
and even when it gets too dark, you know she'll be there still.
For treasure hunting is her game, a rooting in the shite
To find maybe, an old gold watch, would be to her delight!
so now its lovely Leitrim, for the summer and maybe more
To markets in Clogher and Carrick and the shops in Ballinamore
To spend her day relaxing and to settle down her head
But the best part of it all is ...
She'll have more time to spend with Ed!
Love it!! Great ode! I guess you won't be searching my luggage at the airport then! Lol!
Best wishes on your new adventures!

LOL, good to hear you are now putting important things first ie thrifting!
Have a nice relaxing time now you've finished at the airport.
