What's bloomin' in this Indian Summer we are having this year?
I'm not an expert gardener but I do love flowers. In the cottage garden we have....
I think these are called Anemones. My sis, Catherine , gave these to me and they have bloomed each year since. Aren't they lovely?
Gladioli droop over the garden fence.
On the garden gate we have this lovely fairy proclaiming..."Tranquility is a summer breeze"
The nastursums are running riot in the cottage garden as they always do in late summer.
In the corner are the rich sweet hydrangias. This was a gift to me from my next door neighbour in Dublin.
Just outside our cottage is this boreen (bóther-een = small road) these gorgeous orange flowers have been here for decades. They are clumped at each side of our entrance to the cottage garden. This road leads down the mountain to the town of Ballinamore.
...and here's a close up of them.
Let's enjoy them while they last. There's a long winter ahead.
More Cottage Garden (Handcrafted) Bloomers
I wa in my local CS today and could not believe my eyes when I spotted this beauty. A huge, 20 x 18", exquixitely worked cross stitch/tapestry? I have never tried either of these crafts so am not sure which. It is a picture of a pretty cottage and cottage garden flowers. Here are the pics of it both full and closeups. Enjoy.
Isn't it just beautiful?
I don't want to make you all sick now, but the price was...€8 which is approx £7 or $11 dollars. This is my favourite thrifted find this year.I think it will look wonderful in the cottage. My lucky day!
Ahh lovely, we have the orange flowers at the bottom of our garden too.

Oh I just love the cross stitch - I would have snapped that up as well. The work that has gone into it and it is just perfect to remember our lovely sunny September by. Gorgeous flowers, I blogged about some of ours the other day as well.

Pam, thanks for such a nice comment on my blog. I actually thanked you publicly on mine, for all the nice things you say about my knitting. Thank you dear one.
The cross stitch is so beautiful and yes what a bargain. I just received a beautiful cross stitch from my mother in law for our anniversary in August. I hung it above my library table. I just love anything hand made. So much love in it even if you don't know who actually made it. You can just tell.
Hugs,

Thanks for your lovely comment on my blog! Oh and by the way, I like the fact you do line dancing too - I'm a fiddler and budding melodeon player! I just got so excited about a major fabric find (big old bag of freecycle fabrics) that I had to play a little set of reels to celebrate.
Take your partner by the hand...!
