I have now posted most of the photos I promised. So what have I got for you? well...
We made great progress with the kitchen and here are some photos to prove it!
We were invaded by a few stray bats...yes, I said bats! ...and I have the pics to prove it. It is now sorted and we can all relax a bit. BE WARNED...I will be posting a photo of said BATS. So if you are squirly/squally about these things then...close your eyes and scroll to next bit.
*How to remove stray bats from the bathroom (now called the Batroom)
Step one..get up at 6 o'clock in the morning for a tinkle. Walk into bathroom and go "AAAGGGHHH!!!"
If you should find that this does not wake up DH say to yourself "Ah, sufferin' heart...I'm on me own here".
Now get your camera and take a blurry pic of Drac so you can prove how brave you really are.... 6 am? who can focus?
Drac is hanging from your tab top curtains and measures about 2 inches. Get a bucket and use end of a toothbrush to nudge Drac into said bucket. (Use your husband's toothbrush 'cos he did not come to your aid and if he had, he would have used the end of your's ...right? )
Drac will squeel like a pig - which is unexpected- and will frighten the **** out of you. Don't get psyched out by this - just say to yourself..."Self ..this has to be done for all our sakes"
Once Drac the Invader is in bucket run like a hare to release it into The Wild (which is is located just outside the front door)
Now, ...and this is important...run around in circles going... "Ahh,,oohhh,,ah sufferin' heart - I can't believe I did that..ahh,,,hoo, haa, hoohaaa, oh Gawd. ha hoo"
Go back to bed with a smug smile on yer' face! You are hereforwith to be known as Buffy...Oh, the joys of country living!

When the Light Is Right
Another set of pictures I took I call... "When the Light is Right" These are mostly of items in the deep window sills with the sun streaming over them.
This is one of the free range duck eggs with the farmyard muck still on!
The one below is a garland that says... Failte which is Irish for Welcome
Here are a couple of the wildflowers that grow in the ditches around here. The bell shaped one is a foxglove and I don't yet know the name of the other one.
A cute pic of Chewy who decided that my gorgeous vintage tray with pristine tray cloth was a good place for a nap! "Your Dog Is Served" is the title of this one.
I will be adding all the promised photos over this weekend. Cheers for now...
I can't wait to see all the pics :)
A little bat joke for you below.
hugs~kimme
A group of bats, hanging at the ceiling of a cave,
discovers a single bat STANDING upright
underneath on the floor of the cave.
Surprised by this unusual behavior, they ask
this fellow: "What the heck are you doing down there?"
And the fellow bat shouts back: "Yoga!"

I can't wait to see the pics. No BATS...they are flying rats, I don't care what anyone says. LOL...chewy on a tray,,,yess...I'll bet that is so cute. Kitchen pics, I want to see. Billy brought me a new hanging light for the kitchen. It is vintage and has an med/italy look about it.

LOL at the bat. We've lots flying round at night and the DH's mate who ,is a fully qualified Bat Finder (we nicknamed him Dracula many years ago cos he worked nights and now the name is even more fitting!), he came round with his bat detector and was very impressed with the selection round our house. None in the bathroom though!
Glad you like the award ;-)

Glad to have you back...love the bat thing...been there, those early morning encounters can be harrowing...got up early to go to potty (in the dark) and grabbed a glass of water, felt something touch my lips, lights on...the biggest hairy spidey I have ever seen (and survived)...well, you know the rest of the story...

Awww. Chewy looks so sweet. Aren't those hanging baskets to die for? I like all the little shops too.
The kitchen looks so cozy and warm. I would love to cook in there. Bread pudding, dumplings, soup, all those comfort foods.
You have been busy!

Oh the Kitchen is lovely!! I liked it before but
now I am in total love with it!! You did such a great
job!!
The pics of the town are really nice. I have to say they
brought little tears to my eyes. You all have the best
town in the world. It was such a wonderful place to be
and I will always have treasured memories of staying there.
As for the bat. He's kinda cute, but then again I do have
a dog that looks like a bat. His name is Baxter or "the Batster" :)
He!He!
Have a great holiday!!

Your kitchen is looking great. I love the blue and white, it looks very fresh! Thanks for the stroll too! I loved looking at the signs, especially the dirty cars wanted. We had a bat at work last week that must have fallen out of his nest. He was lying in the drive-thru lane at the bank. He was on his back and kicking his feet in braod daylight. He looked like a baby so he might have fallen. They still give me the creeps! Enjoy the rest of your vacation!

Ah, Pam- I never pegged you as a person to have bats in her belfry. :) Your story-telling about the removal of our winged friend was excellent-- I'm just sorry you had to go through that. He's sort of cute-- in a creepy furry scary way, that is. I can't imagine dealing with having him lament as you put him in a bucket, though.
Some lovely photos all around. May your next weeks be entirely bat-free. :)

I'm loving your kitchen - it looks fabulous!
Congrats on your award & thank so much for passing it on to me as well!!!
Your bat story made me laugh - in our house any unexpected wildlife somehow becomes my responsibility & I have to catch & release it. The dog's dinner is very cute - I had a cat-on-a-plate today but she moved before I could photograph her.
