Last Tuesday, in my job, we celebrated the presentation of certificates to some of my students in KCCP. It was a fabulous, fun, celebratory night. I even did an American line dancing demo with my friend, Ruby to mark it! I have posted some photos of this fab night in an earlier post here. and I will be adding some video too.
But tonight I am thinking about the ones that we lost during 2007 who would have been awarded FETAC Certs on that night.
Here I want to honour and pay personal tribute to three lovely young men I had the privilege to teach and know.
I miss you lads...
...In a world that has never had enough of them - you were gentle men.
Paddy ...Handsome, charming, intelligent and funny. With your devestating smile you could light up a room and had a special dignity and presence.
Derek...A gentle giant, quiet and unassuming, full of talent and a sweet, sweet guy. When you spoke - it was quietly, but everyone listened.
John... As you know, I called you "The Quiet Man" because you were one. But you made a huge impression on me - I thought you were wonderful. I just wish I had told you.
...and here are the hand crafted tributes made for Paddy and Derek that are now displayed in our centre. They are working on one for John. The photo on the wall is of Paddy with his brother, The black and white mosiac left says "Loved -never forgotten, Derek" the two wooden plaques are hand carved and the blue/green mosiac is called "The Journey" and has Paddy's photo in the centre. Lovely tributes from their friends.
A lovely post here. Can I ask what happened to these lovely men? So very sad to lose loved ones - friends, too.
blessings,
Becky
