Family and (Furry) Friends

Here are my two youngest and very handsome sons, Stevie and Jamie. Stevie is a musician and Jamie is a plumber.Img_1940 They hate getting their picture taken but as it was my birthday they could not refuse! My firstborn, Chris, is shown here with Paul. P71000021 .

And this is my Paul (unique and free spirited soulmate) with my Holly (a unique and free spirited yorkie)Img_1853

...and here is a pic of my Pretty (my heartlove) perched on a pillow like something precious! She has cancer and her days are limited but each one is as happy as I can make it.Img_1791

Chewieeastwoodmake_my_day My third dog, Chewbacca, is my hairy bundle of fun and is shown in recent post squeezing herself into a dog bed that is way too small for her!

Paul & Son

Here is my lovely hubby, Paul and my firstborn son, Chris. Handsome devils eh?

The door behind them is the only door in the house that any of my 6'+ sons can go through without bending or OUCH!...getting brained. Seems that 160 years ago Irish people were all much smaller. Even 30 years ago people were smaller (see Paul for proof)P7100002 Sorry Paul...you know I love the bones of ye'

P.S Chris!...phone yer' mother!

Mother's Day 2nd March

Img_1484_2 Img_0545 This Sunday 2nd March is Mothering Sunday for us here in Ireland and UK. Here are some gifts I got for my mam ... Love ya' Mam (we don't say Mum or Mom but Mam or Mammy)

A cosy pair of slippers, a campanula plant in planter that says "I love my mam" and a framed print of our family.

The glare of the flash put Mam out of the picture but I have uploaded a full version of it too. Which is me? That's me sitting on the floor with dark hair. Pic shows from left to right top to bottom: Teeda and Catherine, Marie and Willa, Pam and Angie.  It was taken last Christmas on a rare occassion when we were all together.

A special teddy bear loved to destruction!

This is my teddy bear. He is hairless, eyeless, limp and crooked. His name is Pauly. ...Forty nine years old and still giving comfort. He was bought for me by my mammy  in Boland's shop in Ballyfermot, Dublin, in 1959.  I was going into Cherry Orchard Hospital for a tonsilectomy.

I was nervous that day and so my mam brought me into the shop and gave me a choice...A doll or him. He was cute, cuddlesome and had an emerald green bow around his neck. I already had a doll....  There was no competition. It had to be him. I made the right choice.Img_1367

I was four years old. He did his job then - and he is still doing it now.  Love ya' Pauly

Jayne at Country Cottage Chic is doing an old childhood, teddy bear (or doll, rabbit etc) feature on her blog and I have entered him. Someone commented that he looks like he's dancing! Yes, he's a boogie woogie bear! Join the fun at Jayne's blog at http://countrycottagechic.blogspot.com
